Jesus is condemned to death
Priest: We adore you O Christ and we bless
you.
All: Because by your holy cross you have redeemed
the world.
Then Pilate took Jesus and scourged him, and the soldiers plaited a crown
of thorns and put it on his head, and arrayed him in a purple robe. Pilate
brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgement seat at a place called "The
Pavement"....he said to the Jews "Here is your King".
All: Father, in the death of Christ you have
condemned sin. Grant us the gift of eternal life in the same Christ our
Lord. Amen
At the Cross her station keeping, stood the mournful mother weeping, close
to Jesus to the last.
